An effective method of preventing and alleviating stress symptoms is relaxation training. The ability to relax is an art which many people find difficult, but it is an ability which can be acquired. Floating is one way of teaching the body to gradually relax. What does floating do?
After a few minutes, floating gives you an unique feeling of being weightless. During floating, the body is liberated from its daily battle with gravity. All the muscles and organs can relax completely. Breathing slows down and the heart beat drops. The environment, the warmth, the feeling of being carried by the water, all contributes to floating being the ideal way to let go of the stress and problems inherent to modern daily life. Slowly but surely, streams of thought dissolve. It is as if you drift into another dimension.
